ABOUTThis award recognizes a member of the Canadian Geriatrics Society (CGS) who has made a significant and enduring contribution to Clinical Leadership in Geriatrics or Care of the Elderly. This award is not meant to be a “lifetime achievement award”, but instead to recognize valuable Clinical Leaders in Canada providing leadership and excellence in patient care, clinical administration, education, and mentorship.
BACKGROUND This award is named after Dr. B. Lynn Beattie, a Professor Emeritus within the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Beattie is a role model for faculty in geriatrics, in particular junior female faculty. She was the founding Head of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at UBC and a previous co-Director for the BC Network for Aging Research. Dr. Beattie is a renowned researcher and academic geriatrician and was recognized for her work in aging and dementia with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal in 2012.
The nominee must be a (1) geriatrician or COE physician and (2) a member of the Canadian Geriatrics Society.
DEADLINE Nominations must be submitted no later than January 15, 2024.

À propos Ce prix reconnaît un membre de la Société canadienne de gériatrie (SCG) qui a apporté une contribution importante et durable au leadership clinique en gériatrie ou en soins aux personnes âgées. Ce prix n’a pas pour objectif de célébrer « l’œuvre de toute une vie », mais plutôt de reconnaître les leaders cliniques de valeur au Canada qui font preuve de leadership et d'excellence dans les soins aux patients, l'administration clinique, l'éducation et le mentorat.
Contexte Ce prix portera le nom de la Dre B. Lynn Beattie, professeure émérite du département de médecine à University of British Columbia. La Dre Beattie est un modèle pour les professeurs de gériatrie, en particulier pour les jeunes femmes. Elle a été la cheffe fondatrice de la division de médecine gériatrique de l'UBC et a été codirectrice du BC Network for Aging Research. La Dre Beattie est une chercheuse et une gériatre universitaire renommée et a été reconnue pour ses travaux sur le vieillissement et la démence par la médaille du jubilé de diamant de la reine Elizabeth II en 2012.
Date limite Les candidatures doivent être envoyées au plus tard le 15 janvier 2024.
Critères et admissibilité Le candidat doit être (1) un gériatre ou un médecin offrant des soins aux aînés et (2) un membre de la Société canadienne de gériatrie.
