National Geriatrics Interest Group (NGIG) Student Day

Registration for NGIG Student Day is now closed!

For any questions please contact registration@secretariatcentral.com

Why should I attend?

The annual NGIG Student Day will take place on May 29. The NGIG Student Day is organized by the National Geriatrics Interest Group for medical students interested in geriatrics. This is a great opportunity to learn from Canada’s leaders in geriatric medicine and meet fellow like-minded students from schools across Canada.

Keynote Address

This year, we will be hosting a career panel, a variety of workshops, and a keynote address by Dr. Roger Wong.

Call for #IamtheFutureofCanadianGeriatrics Campaign Videos – 15 seconds or less!

Healthcare providers are needed now more than ever and we are immensely proud of the strength of our community. To highlight the diverse ways CGS members across the country are contributing to the CGS vision “a Canadian health care system that ensures older adults age with dignity and live life to the fullest”, we are compiling short video clips for a social media campaign.

Instructions:

  • State your name, your workplace and highlight your interests in Geriatric Medicine
  • Feel free to shoot your video in diverse workplaces, with colleagues of any discipline. Feel free to be creative; it does not have to be too serious
  • End your video with “I am/We are the Future of Canadian Geriatrics”
  • Example script: “I am Paula Pearce, Geriatrician, and I am Lara Nixon, Family Physician. We are providing collaborative care to marginalised older adults residing in a harm reduction facility in Calgary. We are Canadian Geriatrics.” OR “I am Krista Reich, one of the Geriatric Fellows from the University of Calgary and I am interested in perioperative care of the older adult. I am the Future of Geriatric Medicine.”

We encourage you to submit your short (15 second or less) video to cgs@secretariatcentral.com
