Scientific Director of the Institute of Gender and Health, CIHR
Dr. Cara Tannenbaum was appointed Scientific Director of the Institute of Gender and Health at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research in 2015. She obtained her medical and research degrees at McGill University in internal medicine, geriatrics, women’s health and epidemiology. Dr. Tannenbaum is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including an American Geriatrics Society New Investigator Award, the Betty Cohen Knowledge Transfer Award in Aging from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Canadian YWCA Woman of Distinction Award and the May Cohen Gender Equity Award from the Association of Faculties of Medicine Canada. She leads an active geriatric research program in incontinence and deprescribing, and co-directs the Canadian Deprescribing Network.
