| Shannon Freeman
Dr. Shannon Freeman is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Northern British Columbia. Dr. Freeman has expertise in the health and social care needs of older adults in rural and northern communities, both among community-dwelling adults and those in long-term care. She holds a PhD in Health Studies and Gerontology from the University of Waterloo and an MSc in Internal Medicine and Rehabilitation from Tohoku University School of Medicine in Japan. Since moving to northern BC in 2014 to pursue research, Dr. Freeman has spearheaded and contributed to a number of cutting-edge projects in the area of aged care, including establishing CTAAN, the Centre for Technology Adoption for Aging in the North in 2019, an AGEWELL national innovation hub and collaborating center dedicated to enhance innovations in technology development and implementation to support older adults in rural and northern communities (www.ctaan.ca). Dr. Freeman was awarded a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research – AGE-WELL Network of Centers of Excellence (NCE) 2020 Scholar Award. Dr. Freeman’s interest in improving quality of life and care for older adults shows through her engagement in a range of community-partnered research activities, which are having a real-world impact on the rural and northern communities where the research is taking place.

| Dallas Seitz Dr. Seitz is an Professor of Psychiatry and Community Health Sciences, in the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. He is the Scientific Director of the Provincial Addiction and Mental Health program at Alberta Health Services, Co-Chair of the Canadian Coalition for Seniors’ Mental Health and immediate past president of Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry. His research examines health service and knowledge translation in geriatric mental health. Dr. Seitz is actively involved in the development health system strategies, guidelines and policies related to seniors and mental health at both the provincial and national level. Jennifer Watt Dr. Jennifer Watt is a geriatrician at St. Michael's Hospital and Providence Healthcare in Toronto; an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto; and scientist in the Knowledge Translation Program at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute. Her research focuses on improving the quality of care of older adults living with geriatric syndromes. |

| Joe Vipond Joe Vipond has worked as an emergency physician for over twenty years, currently at the Rockyview General Hospital. He is Past-President of the national charity Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment. He is also the co-founder and board member of the local non-profit the Calgary Climate Hub, and during COVID, the co-founder of #masks4Canada and ProtectOurProvinceAB. Joe grew up in Calgary and continues to live there with his wife and two daughters. |

J. Ross Mitchell Dr. Mitchell is the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Chair in AI in Health, a professor in the Department of Medicine, and an adjunct professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alberta. He is also a fellow with the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute and the senior program director of artificial intelligence adoption with AHS. He received his PhD at the University of Western Ontario and has been working in the fields of biomedical imaging, artificial intelligence, and machine learning for 30 years. Dr. Mitchell was the inaugural artificial intelligence officer at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida from 2019 to 2021. There he led efforts to develop AI tools to improve the efficiency and quality of cancer care, including models to predict patient outcomes from electronic health record data, and natural language processing to infer diagnostic codes from free-text pathology reports. He was a professor and the inaugural director of the Division of Medical Imaging Informatics in the Department of Radiology, Mayo Clinic in Arizona, from 2011 to 2019. He was a professor of Biomedical Engineering, Radiology, and Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Calgary from 2000 to 2011. |
